Tarots reading for the end of the spring
The season is coming to an end, but the opportunities for love are not
May 21st, 2024
According to Treccani, the origin of the word primavera is Latin. In Roman language, the term primavera was a remake of the classical Latin primo-vere, which meant "at the beginning of spring." However, the word vēr itself can be traced back to the Sanskrit term vas, which meant "to shine." According to Greek mythology, the goddess Persephone, wife of Hades, the king of the underworld, and daughter of Demeter, would leave the underworld and return to earth during the Spring equinox. Her mother, delighted by her daughter’s occasional but punctual return, would adorn nature with colors, flowers on trees, paint the meadows green, and the sky a deep blue. Finally, in the collective imagination, the season of spring usually indicates a time of rebirth: animals awaken from their long winter hibernation, the days begin to lengthen, flowers bloom, and everything seems somehow brighter and more colorful in a way that’s hard to explain. It’s a magic I witness with pleasure every year and await with eager enthusiasm.
Spring is Ending, Love is Not
It is also said that spring is the season of love. It is said that people fall in love more often. To be clear, you can fall in love all year round! – however, scientifically, the spring sun makes us produce less melatonin, the hormone that regulates sleep. As melatonin decreases, this affects hormones, especially testosterone (which is also present in women). Flowers, warm sun on the skin, colors: our brains involuntarily produce more endorphins, the hormones of happiness. In short, science also says that spring is the season par excellence for new loves, and there is still one month left.
What Do the Tarot Cards Say? Predictions for Spring 2024
I took my deck of old Marseille tarot cards and drew three cards for this collective reading; I asked the cards: what does the future hold in love? What awaits you in the spring season? Let’s analyze together the meaning of these three minor arcana.
Five of Wands
Luck in love is either assisting you now or will assist you in the near future. Soon! Certain misunderstandings and tensions you may have experienced in the past can be overcome and resolved by using reason, that is: by putting your head before your heart for once. You might feel a connection and chemistry with someone in your work or study environment, or among the people or situations you encounter daily; know that what you feel might be reciprocated, and something could soon develop. A new affection, the cards say, but it requires you to take the initiative!
Page of Cups Reversed
There is desire, passion, and attraction around you: if this card appears near the person you love, know that this person is extremely attracted to you, even if their love and way of showing it may seem immature. Pay particular attention to friends: there may be quarrels with a woman you respect and consider close, but who isn’t very close at the moment, and could prove to be different. A period of receiving much admiration and flattery is anticipated. However, beware! Don’t be deceived and always remain cautious. Not all that glitters is gold.
Knight of Cups
A pleasant, unexpected, favorable and positive news is coming. Someone has or will arrive unexpectedly, unannounced, and pleasantly surprising: it could be a loved one or a distant friend, or even a relative you haven’t seen in a long time. In this context, there could be—perhaps not in the immediate future but in the coming months—a move towards something new. It could be a move, a renovation, or a trip. Essentially, these are positive shifts, short trips. Achievements, or, why not, a love at first sight.
