Pearls Make-Up: the perfect beauty look to "rise and shine"
And how to replicate it in just a couple of steps
January 30th, 2020
Over this past year, we saw trends that involved glitters and gems all over the face, from the eyelids to the cheekbones, as decorations and little points of light.
On one hand, glitters give us a shiny and a bit aggressive look, on the other hand, pearls, a recurrent trend of 2020, can provide a fancy and sophisticated twist to every beauty look.
Heritage of the 60s, pearls are a modern interpretation of the classy and almost severe aesthetics that remind us of Breakfast at Tiffany. A contemporary vision of the pure and elegant beauty of that time, in opposition to the excess and the overstatement that dominated the last decade.
Minimalism, but with a transgressive flair. All we need is to place a few pearls on our face, here and there, over a nude make-up, for a sensual and delicate look. But how can we do this?
Unlike the expectations, it's not that complicated to replicate it, you will just need to follow few simple steps and collect few products, starting from a bunch of flat-back pearls, very easy to find for example on Amazon.
The pearls
The size and the colour of the pearls is up to you, it depends on personal taste and type of makeup you want to recreate. In some beauty looks, pearls are all the same size and are lined up to create a graphic and linear design, in other cases pearls vary in sizes, disposition on the face, colour, free from patterns for a more personalized result.
The make-up
In terms of make-up to match with the pearls, there are no rules, it depends on the aesthetics and the results you want to achieve and on personal taste: pearls create a lovely match with a basic, nude make-up with a gentle linear black eyeliner, as well as with colours, for a bold and vibrant look. Either way, make-up needs to be dry before you start applying the pearls, otherwise, they won't stick to the skin and may come off easily.
The tools
After you found the pearls you like, choosing shape, size and color and the make-up to match the pearls with, all you need is a couple of simple tools to apply them on your face. Basically you will need two types of tools: a tweezer, like the ones designed to apply lashes, for example, to pick up and place the pearls. It's useful, but not strictly necessary: you can place the pearls with your fingers, with a little bit of patience. On the other hand, a natural glue is necessary, like the Lus Clear Eye Liquid Glue.
Now that it's clear what is needed to replicate the ironic and cool pearls makeup, the last step and the most important one is this: get inspired by the mini video-tutorial by @soblushing, and try to recreate your version of the pearls make up for a party over the weekend or a dinner with friends.
