Worldwide skincare: 4 compared formulas
We can't travel, but we can still learn the art of beauty from all over the world
January 20th, 2021
In Italy, we are well aware of the importance of the serum & cream combination from a young age. Yet we are not the ones who have marked the fundamental rules of skincare. For example, from Korea we learned the fundamental role of the tonic, from France we learned not to be too aggressive with our skin. But we also often have a lot to do with Scandinavia's hygge approach and the wow effect of some formulations made in the US. For this we have collected for you the four most interesting beauty routines of the moment in the world.
American Beauty
Aging is what is most feared overseas. And no wonder Americans like the word "shock therapy" a lot when it comes to skin routines. So they look for immediate results, albeit as natural as possible, in the power of vitamin C, retinol, salicylic acid, glow effect face masks and detox diets with only centrifuged for about 3-5 days. The target? A fresh and young skin - which many get even with imperceptible aesthetic touches. Translated: visible results in a short time.
The French je ne sais quoi
Simplicity and focus on hydration. Parisians (and not) like to use as few products as possible, but performing. The textures must flow delicately on the face which, after treatment, must appear clean, soft and rested. The French love to buy in pharmacies, but there is also an unconditional love for the expensive looking given by Chanel's formulations. The must-haves? Eye contour, serum, night and day creams (well differentiated) and a radiant mask.
The Korean art of customization
There's no compromise: the 10 skincare steps of K-beauty should be followed every day, morning and evening, respecting your skin. Koreans also know the importance of good sleep because, at night, the skin regenerates itself more actively, between 10pm and 2am. Something intensive and customized is what sets them apart. But before this there is the double cleansing, which thoroughly purifies the pores, then exfoliation to prepare the skin to benefit from all the active ingredients contained in creams, oils and serums. Yes also to rituals such as the jade roller or the gua sha which, thanks to energetic exercises and facial massages, stimulate circulation and eliminate excess water and toxins. All to be repeated morning and evening.
Scandinavians say hygge
A true philosophy, centered on the pursuit of happiness, from cooking to beauty. Those who live hygge live in harmony, without stress or following frenetic rhythms. The skincare department also has the clear goal of relaxing to chase away anxieties and signs of aging. The products to be used are obviously natural, basic but effective if used consistently. In short, you will never find chemical ingredients within the formulations but, on the contrary, extracts from glaciers and fjords. An example? Scandinavian Glacier Water, pristine and rich in oxygen, excellent for soothing and refreshing the scalp as well as the skin.
