Concealer: 5 mistakes to avoid

Concealer: 5 mistakes to avoid Do you know how to apply the concealer without making mistakes?

Applying the concealer may be less easy than you think: not using it in the right way, in fact, risks highlighting the discolorations more, getting the opposite effect to the one we desired... a bit like it happens with foundation. Faithful ally capable of hiding pimples, dark circles and other small spots or imperfections of the skin, giving the illusion of a perfect complexion, the concealer is undoubtedly one of the most loved and used make-up products every day, inevitable in the beauty case of all of us. However, if applied incorrectly, it can settle in micro-fine lines of expression and be difficult to spread.

1. CHOOSE THE WRONG TEXTURE

It is very important to pay attention to the consistency of the products to get the most out of each single concealer and therefore be able to cover all our imperfections: for dark circles, for example, it is better not to choose too dry textures, while the more liquid or creamy ones will be better. For pimples, on the other hand, there is a need for greater hold, so drier textures will work better, which fix better.

2. CHOOSE THE WRONG SHADE

If you think a light shade corrects imperfections and brightens your face, be very careful. In fact, shades that are too light compared to your complexion can create the opposite effect and highlight the imperfections even more, especially when it comes to dark circles.

3. DON'T PREPARE THE SKIN

Before applying any cosmetic it is essential to prepare the skin for make-up. So remember to apply an eye contour cream, or better still a primer, so as to help the concealer last longer and not move into the folds of the face or small wrinkles.

4. APPLY IT IN THE WRONG ORDER

In general, the concealer should be applied before the foundation, but let's say that the order may also depend on the color: if you use, for example, a green concealer for redness, this must necessarily be applied first; while, using a beige or orange one for dark circles, you can apply it even afterwards so as not to risk taking away the concealer applied before when you go to spread the foundation with your hands or brush.

5. APPLY TOO MUCH PRODUCT

Whether it is on the pimples or around the eyes (especially on the outside where there are more lines of expression) it is good to measure the quantities. You can also help yourself with the use of a brush to better dose the product and cover only the affected area well.
