Lightness. This is the key word of summer skincare: moisturizers must be light and, even before hydration, the change of the beauty case must be done in the cleansing step. In fact, in the summer, the skin needs a glow and hydration upgrade: in short, a seasonal beauty routine.
Green light, therefore, to purifying gel cleansers, light moisturizers, refreshing sprays, anti-heat solutions and emergency remedies for shine, enlarged pores and sun spots, and, of course, a good dose of SPF. The goal of summer skincare is to combat the sensations of heat in the skin of the face, bringing long-lasting freshness.
So where to start? Hydration is necessary (as long as it is very light) because, due to sweat, our skin loses a lot of water. The basics of summer skincare are lightweight, naturally gentle, non-occlusive moisturizers designed to be used after cleansing. They are not greasy and are able to bring elements that help reduce the evaporation of water from the skin surface, which is inevitable when the atmosphere is hot, without being "suffocating". To have a skin at the top, then remember to drink at least 1 and a half liters of water a day in order to replenish the lost fluids. Furthermore, aloe juice is a detox drink, a real cure-all since it will help you eliminate toxins and thanks to its high content of vitamins and minerals it will support you in leaving behind the stress accumulated during the winter.
Moving on to cleansing, in the warmer months, abandon all those oily and butter-like texture removers that you use to remove more structured make-up: it is good to replace the usual cleanser with a gel to be rinsed with water. Choose a refreshing version if you arrive in the evening with hot skin: usually in gel formulas, they contain cucumber and aloe extracts that calm the sensations of heat.
Also sunscreen should never be underestimated, both at the sea and in the city, but it is also important to "adapt" our skin to the sun with active ingredients that stimulate melanin, which represents its natural protection and defense. In fact, in summer, UVB rays reach the earth perpendicularly: this is why sunburn is commonplace even in the urban landscape. Never miss a sunscreen with a high SPF (preferably from 30 up).
