Beauty routine: the textures for fall/winter
Butter, oil, rich and nourishing creams for the skin subject to cold weather
October 14th, 2021
Do you know that the needs of our skin change according to the seasons? In fact, skincare should never be the same throughout the year. After all, it is natural to adapt to the weather. Each season has certain and specific needs, which push us not only to make the classic cyclical change of clothes, but also to listen to the new priorities of our skin. Not surprisingly, after the summer period, the latter is tried and stressed by the sun, sea, salt, wind and - let's face it - also by skincare that is not always correct and precise, especially when traveling. Despite the use of sunscreen, our skin now needs to be rebalanced, also to prepare for the arrival of winter; autumn is therefore a season of transition and adjustment of one's skincare routine and represents the change of season par excellence: it is in the middle, temperatures are variable and in addition to "not knowing how to dress", there is also the "not knowing how treat the skin ".
So what are the main changes that should characterize our skin care according to the change of season? After a whole summer of scorching sun, a little peeling is what it takes to get rid of all the dead cells and accumulated toxins. The tanned skin, in fact, cracks with the first cold and that's where we begin to see those anesthetic pieces of excess white skin on us. What to do? As simple as that: peeling and hydration, day and night.
The change of textures is then fundamental. Winter is a season as hard for the skin as summer, albeit for different reasons. The very low temperatures and precipitation such as rain, snow and hail, often carried on the face by the wind despite the umbrella, put it to the test. Creams become more nourishing and bold, according to your skin type: richer creams for dry skin and you go from gel textures to fluid and light creams for combination or oily skin. Choose it not only based on your skin type but also on the desired effect: anti-aging, illuminating or for impure skin. The keyword, however, is to densify and compact our skin, with precious active ingredients like retinol, hyaluronic acid, peptides and collagen.
And for the body? Mousses, balms and oils, there is something for all tastes. Ideal after every shower or bath, they focus on shea butter, jojoba oil, but also argan, honey, coconut and neem oils. Don't be afraid to overdo it and massage them into the skin until completely absorbed, an extra pampering that also benefits the mood. With specific ingredients that, in addition to nourishing in depth, allow a complete sensory experience, with aromas and textures in the name of softness and warmth. And with winter just around the corner, what is more appropriate than requiring cocooning, soft, moisturizing treatments capable of giving the body an extra boost from cosmetics?
Finally, don't forget the sunscreen on your face before going out, even if you don't expose yourself directly to the sun. Choose a so-called urban sunscreen, that is, to be used in the city, with a lighter and easily absorbed texture, also perfect to apply before make-up. Alternatively, if you don't want to layer too many products, there are sunsprays that can be reapplied during the day, even on top of make-up.
