Lady Gaga launches a make-up collection inspired by the glam of Italian women
Special muse: Ornella Muti
November 8th, 2021
Lady Gaga pays homage to her Italian roots in Casa Gaga, the new collection from Haus Laboratories. "Think gold, played-up cheeks, cat eyes & glamour like Italian actress Ornella Muti—more is more." This is what the pop star writes on the Instagram profile of her beauty brand, introducing the new make-up products with a vintage image of the actress, an icon who according to Miss Germanotta (but also according to Daniel Lee who recently chose her for Bottega Veneta's digital magazine) embodies perfectly the beauty, sensuality and glam of the women from Italy.
Gaga's recent stay in Italy for the filming of House of Gucci, Ridley Scott's movie in which she plays the role of Patrizia Reggiani, inspired her to create a limited-edition capsule of six products for eyes, lips and cheeks, all vegan and cruelty-free. The white and gold packaging contains gel-powder highlighters and blushes designed to make the complexion radiant, as if the skin was kissed by the sun; lipsticks has a glossy finish; liquid eye-liner to create the dramatic cat-eye effect that iconic movie divas like Sophia Loren and Gina Lollobrigida sported. Sophia, Gina, Elsa, Stefania, Marcello are, in fact, the names of the mini cream lipsticks; while the other products make you dream of lazy and luxurious vacations in Venice, Rome, Milan, citing the typical cocktails of the Bel Paese such as Bellini and Rossini, Spritz and Amarone, Granita and Maraschino. Brightness, glam, luxury are the features of Casa Gaga because, as the pop star says, "there is glam. And then there is Italian glam. Bellissimo".
The new Haus Laboratories collection will be available Nov. 9 on hauslab.com and on Amazon.
