Cos'è il Rainbow Contour?
Il nuovo beauty trend da TikTok è giocare di sfumature senza fondotinta
January 14th, 2022
Do you think the days of extreme Kim Kardashian contouring are over? Think about it, because the beauty gurus of Tiktok are determined to bring back in vogue the iconic beauty trend but in a different key. Abandoned the technique that involves the laying of various layers of product in cream and powder to sculpt the cheekbones and rebalance the volumes of the face, is the moment to give space to a new trend that allows to obtain a skin bright and perfectly shaped without the use of any foundation.
Pioneer of the beauty trend is Rikki - @rikkisandhuu, 23-year-old English literature graduate who is having a huge influence thanks to her videos on beauty, body positivity and - more recently - for her series "Insta VS Reality" that is bringing to light the problems related to editing apps. After literally testing every trend that Tiktok has to offer, in his video with over 1.5 million views, Rikki launched a technique that defined "by far one of the BEST contouring and highlighting techniques I have ever used!". We are talking about the Rainbow Contour: a face base that is created by painting a real rainbow on your face through patches of corrector, bronzer and blush that give life to a perfectly homogeneous and shaped glow.

To achieve it in a workmanlike manner obtaining an impeccable result and not at all artificial (which is not easy since it involves the application of various layers of product) The first step is to start from a well hydrated facial base to make your skin smooth by minimizing the risk of staining. Then, you go on to make the stripes using concealers, bronzers and blush sticks so as to create a homogeneous play of light and shadow. Finally, after spraying a fixing spray on the face and shading the products so that they "blend perfectly" with a wet beauty blender, the result will be a natural and dewy face, without having to use any foundation.
Although Rikki makes it look simple, some users have nevertheless expressed hesitations about the technique in the comments, pointing out: "You make it look so easy. If I tried, I would look like a clown in some way". Another said that the tutorial does not "work for every shape of the face". Others, however, said they liked the way the look merged together and tried to recreate the effect by succeeding perfectly in the intent.
