The ancient oriental beauty secret using the properties of rose quartz and jade

Korean skincare has always held great fascination for the West, but China is taking its revenge with Gua Sha, the oriental beauty secret dusted off from ancient tomes of natural Chinese medicine ("gua" means rubbing and "sha" means heat). While it is very popular on Instagram and has become a classic beauty routine for celebrities in the United States, it has recently become very popular in Italy. But what does this beauty remedy consist of and which crystals does it rely on?
The Gua Sha massage is a new trend in facial stretching, a real gymnastic for the face that helps to combat the signs of aging and make the oval of the face more relaxed. This ancient Chinese massage technique is performed with special jade or quartz stones, such as the jade roller, which is very popular on social networks and used by beauty addicts as the final gesture of their beauty ritual. The gua sha skincare technique could not exist without the application of natural crystals directly onto the skin of the face. Attention, this is not a scrub: gua sha literally encourages blood flow and the channeling of energies, promising luminous, lifted and supported skin as in a true lifting effect, which is why its practice is also indicated for the rest of the body and in the treatment of cellulite. However, while the ancient technique involves rubbing the skin until it becomes red, modern instruments made of jade or rose quartz are much more tolerant and, according to experts, also work in respect of the seven chakras. In addition to promoting blood circulation, gua sha stimulates lymphatic drainage, improves skin elasticity, reduces facial wrinkles and eases muscle tension. A true panacea for the skin.
How do I use it? The first step is to apply moisturizing face oil or a very rich face cream evenly over the entire face. This makes it easier for the stone tools to glide smoothly over the skin, making sure that the product is also applied to the neck and the sides of the face. The beauty ritual starts at the neck: using the heart-shaped stone, apply light pressure starting at the base of the neck and ending at the hairline, in an upward direction, making fluid movements. Move on to the sides, running the stone from the collarbone to the ear hairline. Remaining in the neck area, make movements (always from the bottom to the top) in the front part, in correspondence of the trachea up to the chin. Now continue towards the jaw, still using the heart stone but in the part with the widest curve. Holding the skin on the chin, begin the massage by following the jaw bone, always making a fluid movement from the bottom to the top, on both sides. Now, place the stone vertically and start from the nose hairline and follow the nose-labial wrinkles, moving the movement towards the cheeks, in order to stimulate circulation and fight free radicals. Finally, for the cheekbone area, massage the brow bone (along the eyebrow) from the inside to the outside, first from one side then the other.
To complete your gua sha face massage, you can also use the jade roller, which is also used to massage fabric face masks. Much easier to use, it can even be chilled in the fridge, and should be run over the face for at least 10-15 minutes for it to have a real beneficial effect on the skin. The larger roller is used to work the cheeks, neck, jaws and forehead, while the smaller roller is suitable for massaging more delicate areas such as the eye contour, lips and nose. The massage generated by the sliding of the rollers stimulates blood microcirculation and lymphatic drainage, optimizing the natural production of collagen.
