Haircuts for summer 2022
The big trends and 5 salons in Milan where to get them
May 26th, 2022
Airy and fluffy, the haircuts for Summer 2022 invite lightness of shape and styling and are all about ease of management. If in the past, in fact, trends wanted big, voluminous hair, full textures and heavy bobs, among the strongest trends of the moment there are instead light, carefree hair, ready for the sun. Among the classics, there is definitely the passe-partout fringe but in a light and subtle version, also in apparent contrast with important lengths. The helmet (bob) and long helmet (lob) still dominate the scene, in every possible declination, from the most composed to the most textured; also the scaled cuts are the protagonists, which reinterpret the 80s shag with progressive scaling, framing the face without impoverishing the hair. And for the more daring and innovative, we find the Mixie: a hybrid between mullet and pixie, which has even conquered TikTok (so you've probably already saved it in your feed plenty of times).
So, the "soft" cuts win, i.e. those that give the idea of soft and airy hair, regardless of length. Greenlight, therefore, to scalings that make the head aerodynamic, adding movement here and there where needed. Compared to past years, geometric and hyper-sagged cuts are less of a trend, in favor of cuts that follow the perimeter of the head. Here, then, are bobs that perfectly follow the jawline and short cuts that fit the face, almost as if sewn in. Volume is sought in all cuts, but in moderation, with the exception of curly hair, which is making a comeback, even in afro versions.

My Place Hair Studio
