Colourful hairpins and scarves, but not only. Soft mermaid-like waves, torchon braids and a preview of FW23

Six hairstyles for summer Colourful hairpins and scarves, but not only. Soft mermaid-like waves, torchon braids and a preview of FW23

When one thinks of summer, heat immediately comes to mind. So, on the hairstyle side, we always tend to opt for a crop, perhaps made more special by a hair flannel. But for this summer, the beloved and hated hair flannel, you can keep it tucked away in a drawer. Because there are six trends to try, whether you have short, medium or long hair, beautiful and practical, already tried and approved by the stars. Let's see them in detail.

Mermaid waves

These are relaxed and fluid waves, with the hairline left smooth and free to express itself from the lengths to the tips. Simone Ashley, who plays one of Ariel's sisters in Disney's live action The Little Mermaid, was the first to adopt them. Sydney Sweeney also applies them to her long curtain fringe, Hailee Steinfeld makes them fuller in the middle, Riley Keough gives it a 70s twist, like her TV character Daisy Jones.

Lots of clips or flowers

Not just basic clothes pegs and hair clips, indeed. Have fun with hair clips in a variety of shapes and colours. Iris Law is an example of this, opting for bunnies and glitter, while Elsa Hosk goes for flowers, preferably chosen fresh, freshly gathered, and attached with an invisible hairpin.

The scarf

Big comeback for the elitist version of the bandana. Choose it small and colourful, preferably in silk. Many stars are wearing it. Bella Hadid prefers it in white with lace embroidery, Sofia Riche and Emma Roberts in multicoloured, worn instead of a headband or straw hat, while Kendall Jenner teaches us how to tie it around the neck in an elegant way.

A simple crop with tufts

Perhaps this is the most exclusive hair look of this summer. It consists of creating a low, pulled chignon, leaving the two most prominent tufts of the frontal hairline free to express themselves in the wind. Star alert: Vittoria Ceretti, Hailey Bieber, Lily-Rose Depp and Dua Lipa, while Gigi Hadid sings out of the chorus and opts for a low ponytail.

The torchon braid

Ariel in the flesh tweaked it. Halle Bailey, star of The Little Mermaid, opted not for the usual braids divided into three segments. She created just two, twisting them like the 1990s ice cream Twister. And she created a hairstyle consisting of not just two braids but many more. They are worth experimenting with.

Bows and flowers: Sandy Liang's autumn preview

Perfect for summer, this hair look, spotted on the autumn/winter 2023-24 catwalk, is playful and joyful. It consists of leaving the hair slightly wavy and applying micro bows, pink, white or black, all along the length of the hair. Alternatively, a scruchie, over and flowery.
