Dolce&Gabbana: the Italian summer smells of Light Blue
The fragrances for her and for him that celebrate the love kissed by the sun of Capri
July 5th, 2024
A love story set against the stunning backdrop of Capri, filled with the irresistible scents of summer days and the Mediterranean sea breeze. This is the inspiration behind Dolce&Gabbana's two iconic summer fragrances, Light Blue and Light Blue Pour Homme, and their campaign set against the majestic Faraglioni rocks. In this setting, we find the protagonists of the Light Blue love story, David Gandy and Bianca Balti. Their sun-kissed skin blends with the aquamarine hues of the Mediterranean Sea and sky, creating the ideal palette for an Italian summer.
Light Blue, Dolce&Gabbana's fragrance for her
Light Blue evokes a Mediterranean woman with effortless femininity and a seductive aura. Created by master perfumer Olivier Cresp, it captures her natural sensuality, distilling the essence of a sunny summer day into a lively fragrance with fruity and floral notes, reminiscent of the effervescence of days spent by the sea on the magical island of Capri. The fragrance opens with the juicy notes of crisp Granny Smith apple and tangy Calabrian lemon. These freshly seductive notes blend with the delicate charm of bellflower. The heart of the fragrance contains a feminine bouquet of intoxicating jasmine and pure white rose, refreshed by the woody and aromatic note of bamboo, which then gives way to a seductive base of cedarwood, reclaimed from the furniture industry’s offcuts.
Light Blue, Dolce&Gabbana's fragrance for him
Light Blue Pour Homme embodies the adventurous spirit of the contemporary Mediterranean man, exuding charm and vitality. Created by renowned perfumer Alberto Morillas, it captures the freshness of this energy in a revitalizing cocktail of Mediterranean citrus. The fragrance opens with an invigorating blend of Italian bergamot, icy grapefruit, and sun-ripened Sicilian mandarin, extracted through cold pressing of the peels. The composition is elevated by the intoxicating spicy note of juniper berries. The vigorous energy of these sparkling notes evolves into a heart of aromatic rosemary and sensual rosewood, accented by the spicy touch of Sichuan pepper, which, with its delicate citrus undertones, enhances the dominant character of the fragrance. Incense, oakmoss, and sensual musks create a warm and woody base that highlights the intensely seductive character of Light Blue Pour Homme.
The Packaging
The two bottles are perfectly complementary with iconic silhouettes that combine tradition and modernity. The frosted glass of the bottles suggests the freshness of the fragrances within, while the blue caps evoke the deep blue of the waters and sky of Capri.
