Leopard make-up conquers TikTok

Leopard make-up conquers TikTok Here's how to recreate it for a wild night or an Halloween look

We are now used to seeing lip-syncs of girls with flawless makeup showing off their perfect eyeliner and their favorite lip combo, all while effortlessly syncing to a viral hit. However, something unusual has shaken up the TikTok algorithm. The For You page seems to be flooded with users made up like leopards, and no, this is not your everyday makeup. The leopard girls don't like to do things halfway, so the nose and whiskers are a must. The first Italian TikToker to go viral with this look was Foxa, reaching almost a million views. But why do we love this look so much? The connection between cool girls and leopards dates back to the early 2000s, when the Bratz "wild life" sported spotted tops and the Cheetah Girls were on tour. Fast forward to today, and this bold, luxurious style has made a comeback, thanks to the mob wife aesthetic that has taken over fashion week runways.

How to achieve the leopard makeup look

The key element of this look is the brown color. So, grab a palette rich in various nude shades, from the darkest to the lightest. After applying a light base with your go-to foundation, sculpt and define your face with bronzer and contour. Cream sticks from Sephora are great tools for this step. To create the animal's spot pattern, you'll need a black (or chocolate) pencil, such as Charlotte Tilbury's Rock'n'Kohl. Starting from the temples down to the cheekbones, draw small C-shaped circles in various sizes. Make sure the ones on the upper part of the face are larger than those on the lower part. Then, blend the center of the Cs with a small brush dipped in brown eyeshadow. You can use Mulac’s Caramelized 02-Liquid Soul for this.

For the leopard's nose and lips, choose a pencil that matches the contouring you've previously done on the shaded parts of the face. A great shade could be Lancome's 62 Morning Espresso, but for a standout smile, don't forget a glossy finish like Fenty Beauty's Sweet Mouth. For a glamorous final touch, complete the base with some fake freckles and a super luminous peach blush. Not sure which ones to choose? Go with Wanna Be Blonde by Mulac for the freckles and Fire Opal by Hous Labs for the blush.

Cat eyes: How to create a feline gaze

The leopard, like all felines, is known for its fierce, sharp gaze that gives it that irresistible elegance. Here's how to achieve it.

  • Cat eye on the upper eyelid: To recreate the elongated effect, blend a nude hazelnut-toned eyeshadow with a darker shade, focusing it only on the outer corner of the eye. Then, draw a thin line of eyeliner. For more precision, use a felt-tip applicator like Deborah Milano's 48-hour extra.
  • Play with light and shadow on the lower eyelid: Enlarge the gaze with a white pencil on the waterline, such as REM Beauty's At the Borderline in So Mod. Intensify the look with a brown pencil under the eye, connecting it to your eyeliner.
  • Contact lenses for the boldest: Do you love going all out? Are you a perfectionist? Whether it's for a Halloween party or a TikTok video, contact lenses could be the finishing touch to your eye look. Desio's Caramel Brown lenses are the perfect shade to emulate the sweetness, depth, and cunning of a feline.
