La Beauté Louis Vuitton is the maison's first make-up line coming this fall
March 5th, 2025
“People have been asking me for years, ‘When is make-up coming for Louis Vuitton?’ Now I can finally say it’s happening. I have been creating make-up looks for Louis Vuitton for many years. We have a shared vision of beauty and collaborate in a way that feels entirely natural, but every season there is a surprise and a twist! La Beauté Louis Vuitton is a perfect extension of the journey we’ve been on together.” Pat McGrath is thrilled to announce her new project: La Beauté Louis Vuitton, the fashion house’s first-ever makeup line.
A natural step into the world of make-up
Since its founding, Louis Vuitton has crafted luxurious beauty cases and elegant powder compacts to safeguard the delicate toiletries of the world’s elite. The brand has carefully designed its bags always to accommodate brushes, mirrors, perfumes, and other cosmetics. Now, as President and CEO Pietro Beccari highlights, the Maison is ready to honor its heritage by further exploring this sector, which it sees as a natural extension of its universe: “La Beauté Louis Vuitton is a natural business evolution, driven by our meticulous attention to quality, formula, and innovation. Through this new universe, we have the opportunity to further accompany clients in their everyday lives with purpose and pleasure, while continuing to celebrate our creativity and heritage”.
Pat McGrath: the art and vision behind the project
Following in the footsteps of Celine and Jacquemus, Louis Vuitton is now stepping into the world of beauty—this time with Pat McGrath, The Mother, the woman who has redefined contemporary makeup codes through her unmatched artistry and creative vision. The visionary makeup artist will take on the role of creative director for cosmetics, while Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud will oversee the fragrance line. McGrath, who already owns her eponymous makeup brand, Pat McGrath Labs, and has previously masterminded the beauty lines of Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, and Gucci, promises that this collaboration with Louis Vuitton will be truly special: "a métier, a concept with an artisanal approach to make-up that combines the heritage and legacy of the fashion house, with the best innovation that the French product labs have to offer."
The Making of a Luxury Beauty Revolution
The Louis Vuitton team has been working on this new project for four years, developing the best formulas and meticulously refining every detail—from texture to pigment concentration and application techniques. All formulas and packaging are crafted in France. Pat McGrath promises that the result is so stunning it unlocks a new level of luxury beauty. The combination of exceptional craftsmanship, extraordinary creativity, and cutting-edge innovation has turned each product into a true object of desire.
What to Expect from La Beauté Louis Vuitton?
The anticipation is high, but what can we expect from La Beauté? So far, it is known that the first collection will feature 55 lipsticks, 10 lip balms, and eight eyeshadow palettes. Additionally, there will be a range of small leather goods designed specifically for the new products, including mini trunks and lipstick cases inspired by the beauty cases first created by the brand in 1854. The launch of La Beauté Louis Vuitton is set for next fall in 116 stores worldwide. The products will be available exclusively in Louis Vuitton boutiques. As CEO Pietro Beccari confirms, "You will never, ever find [Louis Vuitton] at Sephora." He also revealed that the brand is already working on new products and that the range could eventually expand to include "skincare, foundation—anything you can imagine."
