5 style lessons from The Skate Kitchen The NYC-based all female skate collective can teach us something about fashion too

The female skateboarding world is living a magical moment and has never been so celebrated and narrated.
We at nss magazine are closely following this evolution, presenting the protagonists of this historical moment, personalities like Lizzie Armanto or The Skate Kitchen. The NYC-based all-female skate collective was among the guests of the latest edition of White Street Market to present its namesake movie inspired by their real-life experiences. The members of the crew are determined and strong-willed girls, perfectly aware of their potential and objectives, plus they have an amazing taste and style. Although they could never give up Dickies pants and Vans Old Skool - when skating comfort is the first thing -, the Skate Kitchen interpret in a unique way sportswear and streetwear, adding unexpected details and a very feminine touch. It's not a coincidence that they've already collaborated with Miu Miu and they were the protagonist of a Teen Vogue fashion spread: the fashion industry has immediately understood that in the sporty but also sexy and daring look of the Skate Kitchen there was great potential.

Therefore, we've decided to collect here all the best looks sported by the Skate Kitchen, an inspirational mood board that will make you want to ride the board while wearing a striped suit and a white crop top. Take notes.

Brenn Lorenzo - Streetwear Queen

Brenn doesn't miss a single release, especially if it's from Nike. The skater girls matches her beloved sneakers with baggy or oversized pants, almost in contrast with tight turtle necks, tops and crop tops, topped with vintage-inspired jackets.

Kabrina Adams - Free The Nipple

This is basically the core concept at the heart of Kabrina's style, who often works as a model too. Her must-have accessories are definitely the pasties, in a number of different shapes and colours. The overall is worn without anything underneath, the vest is kept open on the naked breast: it's not ostentation, but rather the statement of unapologetic femininity. If you don't feel like daring like Kabrina, you could always wear two different sneakers, as she does.

Ardelia Dede Lovelace - Luxury Sportswear

Dede's style, who works also as a DJ, is eclectic and unexpected. Her favourite items are of course sportswear inspired, but they're often worn with more elegant and feminine clothes, like checkered suits, corduroy pants and double-breasted blazer, black long dress, paired with classic Converse.

Nina Moran - Tide-Dye Addicted

Nina loves strong and bright colours, even more, when they're used for a tie-dye print covering T-shirts and hoodies. Her essential item is the denim overall, sometimes alternated with more elegant suits in pastel tones.

Ajani Russell - Beauty Looks

When she's not sporting a natural beauty look, Anaji loves to experiment with cream eyeshadows and lipsticks highlighting her full lips. The skin is glowing, her favourite nuances range from soft pink to strong purple.
