Nous Etudions presents a capsule inspired by the Air Max 720
In collaboration with Nike Sportswear
March 29th, 2019
The Air Max 720, born 40 years ago "with the idea of capturing the air in the sole of shoes" and made with more than 75% of recycled materials, is an example of how design, technology innovation and eco-sustainability are increasingly intersected with each other. The same characteristics for which Nous Etudions, an Argentine brand founded in 2014 by Romina Cardillo that defines its creature as "austere, vegan, functional, sustainable, minimalist", is becoming known. It was therefore natural for these two companies to join forces and launch a common project, as the designer told Vogue:
"The idea for this collaboration with Nike was born with the desire to combine the vision of Nous Etudions with the functionality of Nike sportswear. I have used different stylistic techniques already used by other creatives in the couture collections but reformulated through futuristic volumes: a “sporty couture” inspired by the Air Max 720. The technology of the materials has been combined with the craftsmanship creating timeless but functional pieces."
The result of the partnership is a capsule collection presented during Designer BA, one of the most important fashion events in Argentina: seven looks made with 100% sustainable materials, among which the capitonné oversized neoprene garments stand out. All the pieces of the line are declined in a range of colors inspired by the energetic movement of nature: yellow, red, pink, purple, orange, fuchsia, and aqua green.
