Agnona tells the stories of modern Penelope
To help us think positively during these unusual days
April 21st, 2020
In this period of uncertainty and disillusion, the fashion industry is united to offer support to fashion enthusiasts and consumers through various tools. First of all, the use of social networks and platforms to send a message of positivity and hope.
The iconic brand Agnona, part of the Ermenegildo Zegna Group since 1999, embraced the cause, and chose to keep company to its audience through a poetic and elegant language, which conveys safety and positivity. Inspired by a classic myth, the most popular epic poem, the brand gives us the opportunity to immerse ourselves and reflect on the Homeric character of Penelope, wife of Ulysses, who confidently and long waits his return by tirelessly weaving her canvas: this story inspires a series of video stories on the social channels of Agnona. Each video interprets the concepts of hope, waiting, courage and patience, referring to the Homeric heroine symbol of patient trust in the future.
The first two protagonists of the "Agnona Penelope Stories" format, live daily from April 17th on the brand's Instagram account, are the young Italian actress Greta Ferro and the Cypriot jewels designer Ivi Kyratz. For the project, creative talents from all over the world among the Agnona community were involved, and each of them will contribute in a personal way to the narration of the concept of waiting, according to their own attitudes through a storytelling method close to their habits.
