The "Office Supplies" jewelry by Virgil Abloh and Jacob & Co.

Virgil Abloh and Jacob & Co. aka the King of Bling unveil the second part of their jewellery collection first previewed last winter. The two partners have added a new selection of pieces, necklaces, earrings and bracelets, all inspired by DIY culture and consisting of a chain of 18K gold staples, both yellow, white and pink, encrusted with diamonds.

The founder of Off-White explains the inspiration behind the collaboration with the famous jeweller which elevated everyday objects to luxury items:

The collection is a concept for fine jewelry I developed and have been sitting on for a while now…It’s all cryptic & metaphoric but that’s as much of the concept as the adolescent idea of making a paperclip bracelet in grade school meets the blinding aspirational quality of a Rocafella chain. It’s my whole art practice in one object. With jewelry design, not only is technical sophistication important, but also lineage. That’s the foundation for pieces with meaning. Jacob for me has always been innovative, particularly in the notions of merging design sophistication and the pop-culture emanating from the streets.
