Bulgari unveils the collaboration with Yoon Ahn
"Serpenti Through the Eyes of Ambush"
September 9th, 2020
Following Alexander Wang and Nicholas Kirkwood, Bulgari partnered with Yoon Ahn for the new chapter of Serpenti Through The Eyes Of..., a series of collaborations that began in 2017, where influential designers reinvent the Serpenti Forever Bag, symbol of the Maison's glamour.
For this capsule collection I wanted to express the bold and contemporary character of Serpenti. - Said Yoon - Snakes are wondrous and fascinating creatures of nature but with Bulgari they also became a symbol of glamour in constant evolution. Natural beauty meets human creation, all guided by a contemporary aesthetic.
For the new project, Ambush's creative director was inspired by the Tree Python, a reptile native to the jungles and grassy marshes of Southeast Asia, famous for its bright colors such as cobalt blue, amethyst purple and bright green. The result of the partnership is a series of quilted nappa leather accessories including coin purses, wallets and a bracelet. The focus of the collection is, of course, the bags: Serpenti shoulder bag, distinguished by a rounded silhouette, metal details and removable shoulder strap; Serpenti belt bag, which is versatile thanks to a removable belt and shoulder strap; Serpenti Minaudiere that, with its heart shape, is available in two versions, one in black nappa leather and the other in aluminum. Each one is declined in vibrant monochromatic tones and features a snakehead closure along with the two brands logo.
The capsule's advertising campaign stars Bella Hadid, Xio Wen and Ellen Rosa, shot by Tyler Mitchell, the photographer of Beyoncé's famous Vogue cover, who is shaping the aesthetics of contemporary fashion with his style.
The Serpenti Through the Eyes of Ambush collection is available online and in Bulgari stores.
