The best of Paris Fashion Week SS21
From Acne Studios hymn to light and nature to Matthew M. Williams debut at Givenchy
October 7th, 2020
Although Milan Fashion Week was expected to be a flop, instead, the one to disappoint more was Paris Fashion Week. If the Italian phygital proposal, even without unforgettable events, proved to be successful, the French model showed less impressive collections then usual. Among physical shows, videos, show in a box and digital shots, the premieres for SS21 are divided between romanticism and street-chic comfort.
From Chloé to Cecilie Bahnsen, from Loewe to Dior, from Rokh to Giambattista Valli, clothes are floating, vaporous, with oversized volumes and dramatic sleeves. Balancing this theatricality of a dark fairytale, perfect for the times we are living, there is the neo-minimalism of Hèrmes, Acne Studios' hymn to light and nature, the hard tailoring of Matthew M. Williams' debut as creative director for Givenchy, Kenzo's chic beekeepers or Koché's poetic sportswear, and Miu Miu's colorful retrò vibes.
Here is a selection of the best looks presented during this Paris Fashion Week 2020.
