On the occasion of the Green Carpet Fashion Awards, promoted by Eco-Age in collaboration with Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana and broadcast in digital version all over the world, Miu Miu presented Upcycled by Miu Miu, the collection of exclusive recycled vintage pieces.
The actress Elisa Visari wore a cocktail dress for the occasion, made from an original design of the 60s, personalized with puff sleeves and pearl decorations. Chen Ran showed a burgundy long dress made from an original 1930s model with a sequin collar and crystal embellishment on the sleeves.
This was a first look at the collection, that will be available during the Christmas period in selected boutiques of the brand. Each item of the Upcycled by Miu Miu collection is a unique piece, built on precious unsigned vintage garments, selected after careful research among vintage clothing stores and markets around the world.
The selected pieces, dating back to the period between the 30s and the 70s, are restored, cut, deconstructed and reconstructed, lengthened or shortened, and decorated with precious embellishment and hand-finished details, including sequins, pearls, crystals, bows and ribbons.
Upcycled by Miu Miu will present 80 dresses, precious one-piece items all customized according to the artistic vision of the brand and customized by hand.
The brand chooses to reinterpret and give new life to pre-loved garments, supporting a sustainable fashion model based on the recycling and reuse of materials.
