5 trends from Chanel Cruise 2021-22 fashion show
Looks that recall the modernity of the sixties as well as a punk attitude
May 5th, 2021
Virginie Viard choose a significant location for the Chanel Cruise 2021-22 fashion show, the Carrières de Lumières, in Les Baux-de-Provence, the quarries where Jean Cocteau shot the film The Testament of Orpheus in the 1960s. The place recalls the friendship between the French poet and director and mademoiselle Coco Chanel, as well as the apartment at 31 rue Cambon where the images of the lookbook were shot by Inez & Vinoodh and where Coco often met Cocteau and other friends.
The collection is a mix of punk inspiration: from piercings and chokers to microbags worn as garters, from fishnet stockings combined with miniskirts to graphic t-shirts, all the looks "recall the modernity of the 60s and punk" as the creative director says Viard. And then again fringes, black & white palettes, crochet and embroidered Provencal flowers, all details that tell the codes of the maison reinterpreted in a contemporary way.
Taking inspiration from the show, nss G-Club has identified the 5 trends of the Chanel Cruise 2021-22 collection that will be the protagonists of the next seasons.
