Miu Miu presents the new Maritime collection

Miuccia Prada explores the sailor style. Playing with the key elements of the most classic summer concept, the designer revisits its colors, emblems and mood with a contemporary, fresh and ironic twist. This is how Maritime was born, the new collection by Miu Miu which combines typically masculine elements such as the marinière collar, broad shoulders and practicality with feminine, almost prissy details such as lace, bows, ruffles, softly rounded sleeves, V-necklines and jewel sandals. All declined in navy blue, white, very pale pink, red and made with fresh and simple fabrics: polka dot satin, poplin, durable cotton denim.

To present the collection that has made the sailor style feminine, graceful and cool, Miu Miu has collaborated with Lotta Volkova for the styling and commissioned the video of the advertising campaign to Johnny Dufort. The English creative has shot the Miu Miu girls, beautiful, united and supportive like a crew about to set sail to discover new horizons, in the evocative location of Saint Malo, posing on the concrete ramparts of the Plage de Bon-Secours. In this pool that juts out into the sea, where man meets nature, it almost seems as if one can taste the enthusiasm for a new beginning, a different and light-hearted season during which to wear delightful white and blue dresses.
