Versace celebrates Pride Month together with Lady Gaga
Launching a capsule collection inspired by the "Born this way" album
June 3rd, 2021
Versace and Lady Gaga have joined forces to create a capsule collection in celebration of two very special events: Pride Month and the 10th anniversary of the release of Born this way.
The result of this partnership, designed to support the LGBTQ+ community and celebrate freedom of expression and identity, is already available online and consists of a unisex T-shirt (made in black or white) and a beret, both featuring the brand's logo in rainbow colors. Along with these two limited edition pieces, Donatella Versace is auctioning off on Omaze.com a replica of the leather jacket worn by Miss Germanotta during the world tour of the album that made her an international pop star. The perfecto is a true work of art made entirely by hand for which it took over 400 hours of workmanship, made even more precious by details such as finishes and golden buckles, but also by the Metal Mesh fabric.
I am so happy to partner once again with Lady Gaga and the Born This Way Foundation. Our friendship and our efforts to promote equality, diversity and inclusion have only become stronger with time. - Said the Versace designer - It’s been 10 years since we created the looks for her Born This Way Ball, so we’ve decided to revisit the leather jacket – one of my favorite pieces from the tour – to be auctioned for a great cause. Gaga and her foundation are so inspiring, I love the work they do with vulnerable youth and the LGBTQ+ community.
All proceeds from the sale of the jacket will support the Born this way foundation. A portion of the proceeds from the unisex t-shirt and beret, which are available at Versace.com, will be donated to the same charity.
