Kylie Jenner's new Barbie pumps by Balenciaga
The celebrity and Stormi love the brand's new 3D heels

Kylie Jenner has a new pair of heels that made Stormi crazy and we are sure she will be envied by all the shoe addicts who grew up playing with Barbie. It's a shocking pink and super girlie version of Balenciaga 3D pumps that the celebs received as a gift from the brand a few days ago. The unboxing, shared with a story on Instagram, was a very sweet mother-daughter moment.
What do you think it is?
Asks Kylie to the baby who, sitting on the floor in her pajamas decorated with airplanes, flip flops, suitcases and headphones, is trying to open the two gray velvet bags with Balenciaga logo that contain a pair of pumps that look like stolen from the wardrobe of Mattel's most famous doll.
New pumps! I wanna try if the other one is pink or blue.
Stormi replies:
I think it's gonna be purple.
Obviously, even from the second bag pops out a hot pink pump that, as the note accompanying the gift specifies, were 3D printed using an innovative technology and "flexible and wearable rubber". The plus? On the side they are customized by the writing "Balenciaga Kylie".
Shortly after, even Kim Kardashian received her 3D pumps created by Demna Gvasalia, but in a silver colorway. Like her younger sister, the KUWTK star showed them on Instagram along with other luxury gifts received including a Prada handbag and an Ouai perfume collection.
Now that the Kardashian-Jenner clan has added the new Balenciaga shoes to its collection, we are sure that the other it-girls will also fall in love with this particular model worth 2490€, with a look recalling the heels worn by Barbie and, above all, with what could be the fashion industry's new favorite technology.
The French brand first introduced 3D printing in the creation of some clothes of the FW18 collection and then tested it in sneakers. On that occasion, Gvasalia had told Vogue:
For the first time, I did digital fittings on a laptop. We 3D scanned bodies and then we altered the shapes in files, 3D printed them, and actually made molds. The tailoring part that you see is all printed. There are only two seams on the side and the arm hole.
The technique was, however, officially introduced at the 2011 Materialise World Summit with a Haute Couture show that included work by Iris van Herpen, Elvis Pompilio, Daniel Widrig and Niccolo Casas, until it became quite popular nowadays.
If you too want to try Balenciaga's 3D pumps you can buy them on Maison's online shop.
