After the palace of Versailles, Piazza del Duomo in Lecce and Marrakech, Maria Grazia Chiuri chooses another historic and enchanting location for Dior Cruise 2022 fashion show, the Panathenaic stadium in Athens illuminated by the moon and the lights of the Acropolis against the night background.
Athens - a place dear to Christian Dior who showed Haute Couture 1951 among the ruins of the Parthenon - is the backdrop to the new collection that blends the heritage of the brand with the contemporary, reinterprets classicism and makes it modern among draperies, gold among the hair and pearls on the face, transparencies and sneakers, worn by the goddesses-models. In addition to having studied and analyzed Greek mythology to infuse it into the plots of the collection, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Maison Dior have joined forces with local experts, artisans and artists to create graphics and designs inspired by Greek history, embroideries and precious fabrics that enhance the leaders through the beauty of the local culture.
