The best looks of the 2021 Emmy Awards
From Anya Taylor-Joy in an elegant yellow Dior Couture to Emma Corrin in Miu Miu
September 20th, 2021
Last night the Emmy Awards 2021 took place in Los Angeles. The special night of television returned in style, awarding the most interesting TV series of the last year. A few examples? The Crown took home 8 statuettes, including the one for Best Leading Actress to Olivia Colman; Ted Lasso, comedy show created by Jason Sudeikis for Apple took home 4 awards, while The Queen's Gambit won for Best Miniseries.
On the red carpet Anya Taylor-Joy, the star of The Queen's Gambit, was crowned the best dress of the event, with her yellow Old Hollywood style dress by Dior Haute Couture, confirming she is an it-girl who always has the perfect look. Equally stylish, but always with a hint of eccentricity, is Emma Corrin who has appeared in front of the photographers with a Miu Miu minimal creation declined in a delicate shade of golden rose, matched with long gloves and a bonnet of the same color. The eye-catching detail? The dramatic black stiletto-shaped nails (perfect for Halloween), by Simone Simmy Cummings.
Definitely more traditional, but still chic, were the outfits of Elizabeth Olsen with her refined caftan by The Row; the grass-green full-length dress created by Dior for Yara Shahidi; the red dress by Carolina Herrera worn by Sarah Paulson, the star of the American Horror Story saga; the black jumpsuit by Elie Saab chosen by Ellen Pompeo. Issa Rae, on the other hand, wore a piece similar to the Saint Laurent nude-effect mesh dress worn by Zoë Kravitz at the Met Gala 2021; while Kerry Washington and Kaley Cuoco opted for a slip dress by Etro and a lime yellow custom-made dress by Vera Wang. Flawless Kate Winslet in total black by Giorgio Armani and Gillian Anderson in a white top and skirt by Chloé, both awarded during the evening for their performances in Mare of Easttown and The Crown.
