Blumarine SS22 collection is a hymn to the Y2k style
Between sexy butterfly girls and glitter, Nicola Brognano revisits the aesthetics of the early 2000s for Gen Z

In the spring-summer 2022 collection Blumarine revisits the aesthetic of the early 2000s, bringing on the catwalk the girlie glamour of Britney Spears and Paris Hilton for Gen Z. Suddenly, Milan seems to be California at the dawn of the new millennium: Mariah Carey appears on the red carpet of the VH1 Divas Live concert wearing a skimpy butterfly top, Missy Elliot wins the Grammy for Best rap solo performance in a total pink adidas tracksuit, Destiny's Child dance to the notes of Survivor in matching camouflage outfits and Alicia Keys is on the cover of the major magazines with a bandana and a glittery thong popping out of her jeans. From this journey back in time, Nicola Brognano takes reference and mood, adding a good dose of frivolity, fun and, above all, sexiness that, together with the styling of Lotta Volkova, makes the new creations of the Milanese brand irresistible.
It's easy to visualize Bella Hadid or Olivia Rodrigo, who are both already fans of Blumarine 2.0, wearing on the red carpet and on the IG sheer t-shirts, miniskirts, long transparent dresses, micro bikinis, butterfly tops, sweaters with regenerated mink inserts, chiffon pants combined with ethereal blouses full of ruffles, tiny denim shorts, denim patchwork pieces or mini-dresses decorated with roses.
The women Brognano brought on the catwalk are super sexy, cheeky, frivolous and glam, they love to be the center of attention not only with their outfits, but also by choosing girlie and bling-bling accessories and make-up such as very high boots, bandanas, sunglasses with colored lenses, belts and jewelry with butterflies or "B" in crystals, micro bags that look like tasty candies and a shower of glitter covering the whole body.
