The harmony between Haute Couture SS22 and Sneakers
When high fashion meets street culture
January 28th, 2022
The catwalks of Haute Couture in Paris are a design fantasy that has become reality since the end of 1800. Abstract images become concrete clothes thanks to the skillful craftsmanship of the workshops of the French maison, in which they live centuries of technique and study of body shapes. With fewer years of break-in but equivalent visual and cultural impact in a much shorter period of time, thanks to the creative work and significance of visionaries like Virgil Abloh, even sneakers have become a modern symbol of design in footwear, that applied to the foot and movement represents an aesthetic preference studied in detail as well as a mood and a status, also economic. Despite the difference in contexts of origin, sneakers and Haute Couture perfectly coexist in the scenario of current high fashion feeding the aspirational sphere of the luxury world. Based on a free aesthetic association we have created a visual bridge between the sneakers of the moment and the creations of Schiaparelli, Dior, Chanel, Valentino and Fendi that walked from 22 to 27 January 2022, creating a moodboard for those who love both aspects of fashion.
