Napapijri launches an exclusive capsule with Fiorucci
Genderless and with a 90s mood
January 27th, 2022
What happens when two icons of Italian style like NAPAPIJRI and Fiorucci meet for the first time? The result is a capsule collection with an irresistible retro look that has its roots in the '90s and celebrates personal expression. It's a fun collection that fuses the heritage of both brands to create garments featuring lightweight, versatile silhouettes, all-over prints and technical materials.
The starting point for developing the collaboration was the concept of exploration, a subject that, as Fiorucci's artistic director Daniel Fletcher explains, is dear to both companies:
"Napapijri is rooted in the exploration of nature and the planet, Fiorucci loves to explore individuality and self-expression. This collaboration reflects their shared curiosity about the world."
A thought also reiterated by Gabriella Busnelli, Head of Design at Napapijri:
"As Elio (Fiorucci) used to say, "this is an era of great elegance, especially because everyone is free to create their own image. You no longer need wealth to build a fashionable look, all you need is imagination". And it was a flight of fancy that led us to this capsule and the partnership with Fiorucci: combining its pop heritage with our garments and technical fabrics was pure fun."
The must-have item is Northfarer, the iconic Napapijri anorak, which returns to stores in a new unisex version, made of polyester and made special by the all-over Fiorucci monogram, the same partner that also invades the biker shorts, the cropped top and the long-sleeved jersey. While the famous Angels of the brand founded by Elio Fiorucci, with their new look, give a funny twist to hoodies, jersey pants, tees, anoraks and accessories.
The Napapijri x Fiorucci capsule collection will be available from 27th January on the website napapijri.com and in the Orefici11 flagship store in Milan, but also in the Fiorucci flagship store in London, on the website fiorucci.com and at selected retailers.
