"The Woolrich Woman" by Daniëlle Cathari thrives in the outdoors
The new SS22 collection designed for the woman who is inspired by nature

Woolrich and Daniëlle Cathari renew their collaboration that began in 2020, when, while browsing through the brand's Bologna archive, the Dutch designer fell in love with The Woolrich Woman, a women's line conceived for the everyday lifestyle of the modern woman, which has been out of production for several years now. After the first chapter in autumn/winter 2021, now the partnership is renewed with a collection designed for spring/summer 2022. Inspired by nature and the pleasure of being outdoors that animated Made for Fun, a 1987 radio commercial that described foggy mornings in the mountains or warm summer evenings in one's favorite spot, Cathari revisits the outdoor style by adding a contemporary twist to each item that perfectly combines her deconstructed design with Woolrich's heritage.
"For this collection I wanted to merge a technical approach with elements of elegance — made for “ladies who lunch” but also thrive in the outdoors." says the designer about the series of pieces that are practical, functional, but also feminine and easy: from the cargo skirt remodeled with fabric panels and handy pockets to the knitted halter top, from the cotton fleece outfit made up of a sweatshirt and mini skirt to the anorak, from the shorts to the check socks and the little coats worn by the garments on the set of the capsule campaign. The images of the shoot also share the same fun and carefree approach to nature, so much so that Cathari suggested that the models pose as if they were birdwatching, pointing and listening to the song of birds or as if the wind in the trees were gently moving their hair.
The Spring/Summer 2022 Woolrich Woman by Daniëlle Cathari collection is available from 12 April both online on daniellecathari.com and woolrich.com and in Woolrich stores in Milan, Berlin and Soho.
