The new Miu Miu auto-determinative uniform

Miuccia Prada's reinterpretation of the concept of the new classic continues in the Day/Night collection, designed to portray a rebellious youth that uses fashion to recognise and be recognised, exploiting the true self-determining power of the garments chosen every day to represent themselves in the world. The community Miu Miu is inspired by is made up of creative individuals who are not afraid to celebrate their own style in constant evolution and transformation, somewhere between timeless garments and sartorial as well as conceptual experimentation.

The precise hemlines of Miu Miu's wardrobe staples appear radically shortened, rendering the silhouettes of the brand's pleated skirts, jackets and shirts in proportions clearly inspired by sports-wear. a dynamism of movement that liberates rather than constricts. In a reinterpretation of the function of uniform garments, a mainstay of Prada's poetics, formal occasion suits with a bourgeois echo are transformed into sparkling garments with oversize crystal embellished beading and collars, practical tennis skirts are worn low-waisted and blend the fashion house logo printed on sporty stripes while the composed silhouette of satin longuette dresses is maximised by the effect of puffed sleeves. The Miu Wander bag, with its half-moon shape in iconic quilted leather, completes the look, making it even more contemporary.  

The conceptual work on contrast is inspired by the dichotomies Day/Night, Real/Irreal, in a calm chaos made even more vivid by the inspiration of Lotta Volkova at styling and Lina Kutsovskaya (BeGood Studios) at Creative Direction in the shoot shot by Tyrone Lebon.
