Even Jacquemus jumps on the bikercore trend
Along with Sydney Sweeney, the new capsule with Nike, and the Hawaiian landscape
May 31st, 2022
Sydney Sweeney is the new face of Jacquemus. Following Miu Miu, Armani, and Lineage, another big brand is setting its sights on the Euphoria actress and choosing her to star in its new advertising campaign. This time the rising star is portrayed by Tom Kneller in a series of shots that confirm fashion's obsession with the Motomami trend. In the images, which are somewhat reminiscent of the editorial featuring Kim Kardashian in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2022 issue, Sydney is astride a motorcycle, lit by the setting sun on a beach in Hawaii, already the location of Jacquemus "Le Splash" fashion show. Hot as ever, HBO's Cassie looks like a contemporary version of 1960s bikers and evokes vintage photos of icons such as Brigitte Bardot, Françoise Hardy and Marianne Faithfull, beautiful, cool and free, on their motorcycles.
Officially, it has not been revealed which season the new campaign is linked to, but it is quite possible that it is a preview of the long-awaited collaboration with Nike. The clues are in the styling done by Zoey Radford Scott. Sydney, in fact, wears an all-black & white outfit that could include, consisting of the Le bandeau Veleiro top, a tennis mini-skirt (always the perfect summer essential), white sports socks on which reads "Jacquemus" and a pair of two-tone sneakers on which stands out the Nike swoosh that the actress alternates with light blue mules, also worn with socks. Sweeney's biker girl (summer version) look is completed by a sun-kissed wet hair make-up.
Details about the Jacquemus-Nike capsule to be launched on June 28, 2022 on jacquemus.com are still unknown. So far we know that the collection will consist of 15 pieces, available in a wider and more inclusive size range than usual, which are expected to include a backless dress, a pleated skirt, a bucket hat, a pair of Nike ACG Humara and other sneaker silhouettes.
