You always think that with the arrival of the scorching heat, you necessarily need to shelve the idea of wearing denim fabric. But instead, we are wrong, very wrong. Because dressing denim, from head to toe, is the coolest thing you can do this season. Stars are speaking out on their Instagram profiles, from Dua Lipa to Elodie to the irreverent Julia Fox: total denim is sexy and summery. For those who are not fans of the 2000s denim look, sported from the tips of the hair down to the toes - to wit, Britney Spears' history-making one in combo with ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake - you can opt for just a corset top, a mini skirt or even just an accessory, from a handbag to cat boots. You can snag a garment from brands that know how to do denim beautifully, such as Diesel and Levi's, or you can give in to the goodies of the hottest designs, from Balenciaga to Loewe. And if you can, give upcycled denim a chance as well, especially if scouted out in some corner of the latest vintage or conscious collection, even low cost from Mango to H&M.
The hottest trends, spotted on Instagram feeds but also on the runway, are five, all confirming that denim fabric is a forever passepartout. And have fun composing your favorite total denim outfit. Let's start with the big comeback, namely the denim corset. The first to bring it back in vogue was Bella Hadid, and a few hours ago Chloë Sevigny reconfirmed the trend, reposting a youthful photo of her with her friend and fellow Russian Doll, Natasha Lyonne. Dua Lipa, on the other hand, juxtaposed it with the miniskirt (all Fendace), which is the second trend of the season. Low-waisted but also high-waisted, they must have one diktat in common: be bold. On the other hand, for those who don't like to show too much of their legs, malleolus-length skirts are back, beautiful and sexy even with a pair of easygoing boots. Dungarees are among the must-have items in this summer's wardrobe, classically over to be worn with a white tank top and a pair of sneakers, as in the 2000s. And then there are them, the accessories. From the total denim handbag to flats and high-heeled boots, via fisherman's hats and a few stock goodies-if you can find them in some vintage stall-such as sunglasses, belts and jewelry, preferably with a sprinkling of rhinestones on top to make you very twenty-first-century baby one more time.
