Spring Summer 2023: the 5 shoe trends not to be missed

Leave cargo boots, ankle boots and trainers aside as the new footwear moves freely between nostalgia and the future, welcoming pointed toes, lysergic colours and soothing tones, embellished straps and shiny buckles. Here are the 5 trends to look out for.

Trend shoes SS23: Ballet shoes

Back in 2016, Miu Miu caused a stir with the introduction of ballet shoes with double straps and bands that wrap around the ankles. Seven years later, the ballet shoes make a graceful, dancing return, featuring soothing hues, satin and leather, with rounded toes and the ubiquitous elasticated strap. Ganni shines with green satin and a ruffled effect, Prada goes for fluffy leather and a triangular logo, The Row sticks to its austerity and neutral colour, Miu Miu emphasises the dance side with tonal rubber and bows, Aeyde goes for minimalism with cream leather and minimal strapping.

They may not have the look of spring, but given the change in weather, they are one of the top trends even in the warmer months. The common denominator is the colour, which is as black as it gets, perfect to accompany and visually elongate the extremities.
