The best outfits and beauty looks from the Green Carpet of Sanremo 2024
From Angelina Mango's pop look in Etro to Annalisa in Dolce&Gabbana
February 6th, 2024
With less than 24 hours to go before the start of Sanremo 2024, the competing big names parade on the green carpet set up outside the Ariston Theater. It is a green carpet made of real grass, 200 meters long and 4 meters wide, a symbol of the green commitment that kicks off the Sanremo week. It is an opportunity to witness the first official public appearance of Emma, Mahmood, Annalisa, Ghali, Gazzelle and the other artists who thus reveal a preview of the looks they will sport during the evenings of the Festival. Cheered on by the crowd, they parade one by one, giving fans and the audience a small taste of the glam that will accompany them on stage. Leading the event is the same Primafestival team composed of Daniele Cabras, Mattia Stanga, in total Thom Browne look complete with a dachshund bag, and Paola and Chiara. For this live the Iezzi sisters chose a light blue suit and little black dress, both by Marella and accessorized with flower chockers.

If the Green Carpet offers clues about the looks the artists will wear on the Ariston stage in the coming days, then we should expect a lot of black, oversized silhouettes, some transparency and fetish touches with leather and vinyl. To protect themselves from the cold of the Ligurian Riviera, everyone opted for trench coats and overcoats, focusing more on the stage effect than the cozy one. Rose Villain went for manga by Dsquared2 outfits, consisting of a hooded maxi down jacket with tartan details, paired with a turquoise bob with a parting in the middle, a look similar to the one sported by Loredana Bertè. Both Irama and Angelina Mango chose the rock allure of fur. The singer from Maratea wears it over a catsuit with a 60s pattern by Etro. Alessandra Amoroso, Emma Marrone and Annalisa confirmed the turn toward a more edgy and sensual style. The former showed up on the green carpet in a dress full of cut-outs created by Fausto Puglisi for Roberto Cavalli, the latter relied on Lorenzo Posocco, who chose for her black leather trench coat, white draped dress and fiery red cuissard, all by JW Anderson, while Annalisa played with transparencies, opting for a black sheer trench coat en pendant with the Dolce&Gabbana dress. Same brand for the Santi Francesi; Moschino for Dargen D'Amico; Emporio Armani for The Kolors and Il Volo; Fendi for Mr.Rain; while Ghali relied on Thom Browne, wearing a long plaid coat over black pants, white shirt and tie. The weird detail? The bag in the shape of an elephant. Worth mentioning is the leather dress with a long train by Domenico Orefice of BigMama and for Clara Soccini in total white, who wore the Gerry Coat by Loro Piana. The coolest of the men? Mahmood in Maison Margiela SS24 Haute Couture styled by Lisa Jarvis: barbed coat, black turtleneck, gray tailored pants, leather corset in brown tight at the waist and gold grillz to brighten the smile.

What should we expect from the competing singers from a beauty perspective? According to the green carpet, natural hairstyles, some wet looks, graphic eyes, 90s lips and a touch of red. Annalisa went for red lips, very long cat-eye, 80s blush on cheeks, temples and eyelids warming up her porcelain complexion. For BigMama, MUA Serena Polh created cut crease eyes with black eye-liner and eye shadow in shades of peach (the shade of lipstick), illuminated by a white glitter powder near the tear duct. Nineties popstar style for Angelina Mango, who sported an XXL high tail with tendrils framing her face. For her, Chantal Ciaffardini created a make-up focused on blue eyeshadow and lips in shades of orange. Easy chic look for Clara Soccini, formed by gathered hats and a soft make-up; while Emma relied on MrDaniel who created a sophisticated make-up for her. The focus? Lips in shades of brown.
