On Friday 9 February, the AW LAB store in Milan in Via Torino hosted a special talk organized by the nss G-Club with two extraordinary protagonists: Giulia Stabile and Luigi D'Elisa. In front of an audience that included Giulia's loyal community, the dancer, winner of the 2020 edition of Amici di Maria De Filippi, and her stylist opened a fresh and spontaneous conversation in which they talked about their personal lives and the path that led them here today, as well as their collaboration. How did their adventure together begin? Thanks to Rosalía. Giulia and Luigi met at a concert by the singer, who is also a reference for the looks the stylist creates for the dancer.erina.
Hosted by nss G-Club contributor Martina Guzzoletti, the two guests talked fashion and gave tips on how to create an outfit that reflects our personality, starting with a statement piece like the Nike V2K. The new sneaker model combines vintage and modernity by projecting the most popular looks of running models from the early 2000s into the present. With its versatile style that can be combined with everything from serious and fashionable clothes to dance looks, the shoe perfectly suits Giulia's sunny and cool needs and character, who even finds it very comfortable when dancing. Luigi suggests an additional styling, a bit London, and imagines the dancer with V2Ks, cargo pants, tartan mini skirt, double belt, crop top and red fur coat.
Luigi, who has collaborated with many artists throughout his career, created editorials for various magazines and worked on the styling team of TV shows such as X Factor and Sanremo, explained what it means to be a stylist, how he creates a look for Giulia and where he draws inspiration for his creative universe. Giulia's community followed her icon closely, who, with her characteristic sunny disposition and energy, told how she lives the relationship between her profession as a dancer and fashion, but also the comments on her looks that she receives from her fans. The first thing to consider is the context in which the outfit is to be shown. Then the input can come from many sides, especially from the present, from what is happening around us and from street style. For Giulia's styling, "urban, Latin American and contemporary music " is a big influence." You also always have to keep in mind that every piece she wears must allow her to feel comfortable and free while dancing. The result is a "fresh, fun" style.
Giulia's community followed her icon closely. With her characteristic sunny disposition and energy, she shared how she lives the relationship between her profession as a dancer and fashion, but also the comments on her looks that she receives from her fans. She revealed that she feels "more "feminine" when she dances in stilettos, which are cut tighter and wears a leotard and stockings. She said that her fans often give their opinions on her outfits and that she uses fan sites that collect her looks "to review them and find ideas." If there is a negative comment, she has learned to let it pass without "getting paranoid" During the interview, the dancer then gave the audience a little private moment: there was always music in the house and her mother used to rock her to sleep by rocking her and playing her songs. Perhaps this is where the passion that led her to dance was born. She explained that she started dancing when she was 3½ years old and never stopped when she realized it would become her profession. Her advice to her community (and beyond)? "Don't give up, never set goals that are too easy, because goals that are far away and hard to reach feed the hunger" and it's "much nicer the journey than the actual destination."
