Vivid Memories of the Future, fashion according to Maison Vionnet
The first capsule collection anticipates The Vionnet Way project
February 15th, 2024
Past. Present. Future. Vionnet brings them together in The Vionnet Way, Maison's new creative project consisting of three limited-edition mini-collections of around twenty pieces each, including ready-to-wear clothing and accessories. The inspiration is Madeleine Vionnet, who revolutionized 20th-century fashion with her draping and bold creations and shaped the way we dress today. The new creations rework the codes of the brand's founder in a contemporary form: the draping, the geometric shapes, the shaded effects, the knots, the fringes and the graphic motifs developed in collaboration with the artist Thayaht, who also designed the Vionnet logo.
Vivid Memories of the Future, the tomorrow of Vionnet
The first drop to launch the Vionnet Way, Vivid Memories of the Future, is already available on the brand's official website. It is a series of garments that combine minimalism, basics and statement pieces to play with and create endless stories and looks, depending on the wearer's mood. Each garment blends tradition and modernity, practicality and elegance. Key codes and elements from Madame Vionnet's world transform skirts, dresses, bralettes, knitwear, shorts and accessories into a timeless wardrobe.

Drapes. Geometric shapes. Degradé effects. Fringes. Knots. Embroidery and graphics. They are all distinctive elements that make up the heart and soul of the Vionnet esthetic and are brought back to life in Vivid Memories of the Future. The novelty? The sparkle of sequins and crystals that catch the light and create volume and movement in garments with an essential silhouette such as the Jerry shorts, the Tom bralette, the Tobias midi skirt and the Blake midi dress, which are also made special by a range of materials hand-embroidered on black tulle. Asymmetric silhouettes, side knots and draping characterize tops and sweaters, but also the Dennis kaftan in silver lurex. Dynamism, movement and a soft fit make the capsule's garments refined and comfortable, but always with a special twist such as the fringes of the Arthur dress or the tricolor mohair inlay of the Bob sweater, a reference to the creative partnership between Madeleine Vionnet and the artist Thayaht, who introduced dynamic geometries and dégradé colors into the textile decoration. The collection is completed by the jewelry, the shiny Noah earrings and the Kai necklace, which embody the elegance and spirit of the Roaring Twenties with their sparkling silver-look gemstones.
