New Era debuts in womenswear with SS24 collection
Brand heritage meets contemporary style

New Era has always embodied the fusion of sport, streetwear, and style. It all began in 1920 with founder Ehrhardt Koch, producing Gatsby-style caps in the city of Buffalo and later creating caps for the Cleveland Indians baseball team. Since then, four generations of the Koch family have continued this century-old story of quality, coolness, and significant achievements, such as being the first headwear company to simultaneously hold exclusive rights for MLB, NFL, and NBA. Now, New Era achieves a new milestone with the launch of its first womenswear category. Building on its heritage, the new collections, highlighting the offerings of the New Era and MLB brands, include headwear such as the iconic 9FORTY and 9TWENTY silhouettes by New Era, along with an entirely new open-back 9FORTY cap, and apparel ranging from leggings to crop tops.
Remaining true to its DNA, the New Era collection starts with headwear: the 9TWENTY, with its timeless deconstructed silhouettes, and the 9FORTY Active women's cap, characterized by an innovative open and adjustable design, specifically created to accommodate various hairstyles, including ponytails. Comfortable yet impactful fits and pastel colors are the common thread in the clothing items. High-neck tank tops, square-striped shirts, and corresponding shorts, all featuring the embroidered New Era logo, along with comfortable coordinates, allow for playful styling, combining personality, style, and comfort. Cropped hoodies and joggers stand out with bolder New Era logos, while hoodies, in addition to the brand logo, are boldly embroidered with contrast stitching for the place of origin and founding year.
The MLB offering is divided into two sections: MLB Sports Specialist and MLB Womenswear Fashion Lifestyle. For the MLB Sports Specialist collection, inspired by sportswear and focused on comfort and flexibility, New Era combines iconic MLB logos with delicate details and bold color palettes ranging from neutral tones to black and earthy browns. The result is a series of clean and contemporary looks, complemented by logos of famous teams such as the New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Chicago White Sox, emphasized by contrast stitching. The famous adjustable 9FORTY cap is not absent, with MLB team logos featured prominently and the New Era brand contrasting on the side profile. The MLB Womenswear Fashion Lifestyle collection, on the other hand, draws inspiration from seasonal trends and is adorned with earthy colors like browns, dusty lilacs, and faded sands. Highlights of the offering include vintage baseball-style sweat shorts, two-tone shirts with MLB team logos and their respective origins, high-neck sports tank tops with central MLB embroidery, and fringed hem. Finally, there are matching hoodies and joggers, featuring the official MLB team logo and the New Era brand symmetrically placed, accompanied by the team's full name embroidered in an elegant cursive font along the sleeve and leg.
