The moodboard of Fashion Weeks FW24
From the art world to archival fashion, where did the runways get their inspiration?
March 6th, 2024
Speaking about the Gucci FW 2024 collection, Sabato De Sarno said he wanted to dialogue "with the real as my dreams do," working on a dimension "that is not the search for another world to inhabit, rather ways to inhabit this world." No precise or pretentious reference. No garments made just to impress. No flights of fancy. And the rest of the designers in this just concluded fashion month did the same, preferring to fish from their own archives or focusing on essential looks that guarantee excellent economic results and please the market. The result, with exceptions, is a bit of boredom, a common sense of flattening that makes many regret the past. Will the upcoming collections continue with this mood of quiet luxury or will they offer us something that catches our attention?
