White? In summer? Pure avant-garde. Yes, it’s a basic color, fresh, clean, and perfectly suited for seasonal looks. But there are many other shades we can play with in the coming weeks, even including them in our autumn essentials. Let's abandon banality, and embrace sorbet tones, pastel shades, and neon accents that add a bit more character to neutral tones. From now until the end of summer and beyond, our wardrobe will be tinged with yellow, purple, blue, pink, but also brown, gray, and the indispensable black. The Peach Fuzz, declared by Pantone as the Color of the Year 2024, gains intensity and transforms into apricot, purple fades to an elegant pale lilac, blue gives way to a dusty blue that literally feels like it refreshes summer looks, while red turns dark, like a juicy cherry you can’t wait to bite into. Green, as shown by recent fashion weeks, remains a protagonist, in every shade from forest green to mint green to neon, which, thanks to Charli XCX and her latest album, is now the symbol of Brat Summer. The true must-have, the cool and chic color to flaunt from July onward, is butter yellow. The secret to its success? Versatility, but also its discreet brightness. There are many chromatic options to wear, and we suggest 5 perfect for late summer outfits (but not only!).
Brat Green
Mood: green is much more than the color of hope. Associated with the heart chakra, it is synonymous with security, and according to color therapy, it has the power to relax muscles, reduce stress levels, and instill the calm needed to achieve one's goals. Specifically, lime green, a vibrant shade that mixes green with yellow, is often used to evoke feelings of energy, a boost of positivity, vitality, youth, and enthusiasm.
On the catwalk: before Charli XCX brought it back, Sabato De Sarno used it at Gucci to make jackets and miniskirts special, the Danish designer Soeren Le Schmidt and Tod’s chose it to give a twist to power suits and office outfits, Vivetta paired it with ostrich feathers, while Benetton dyed elegant knit sets in this color.
