Who is the most copied celebrity of 2024?
Here’s a hint: it's exactly who you’re thinking
September 16th, 2024
Before influencers set trends, it was up to movie and music stars. For a moment, it seemed like the world of fashion and makeup was in the hands of content creators, who were launching new trends and micro-trends on social media every day. But in reality, that’s not quite the case, as celebrities still hold a lot of power. They are copied, admired, and have figured out how to regain control over social media and their fans. Can you guess who’s the most copied of all? A recent study by Public Desire analyzed social media data to identify the celebrities whose style was most copied in 2024. The score was calculated based on several factors: monthly search volume, social media mentions, the number of fashion-related Pinterest pins, and appearances at fashion weeks.
Rihanna is the most copied of all
Rihanna tops the list of celebrities whose style is most copied, with the highest number of social media mentions (35,000,000) and three brand collaborations, including the famous lingerie line Savage X Fenty, boosting her influence. In second place is Taylor Swift, who has the highest monthly fashion-related search volume (3,393,100). Her position is strengthened by a strong social media presence, Pinterest pins, and collaborations with various brands during the Eras Tour, whose outfits have garnered much interest.
Kim Kardashian takes third place
Kim Kardashian comes next. Her influence as a trendsetter is evident from the number of fashion-related Pinterest pins, the highest on the list. Her constant presence at exclusive fashion events, on social media, and through brand collaborations increases her impact as an influencer. Kylie Jenner ranks fourth, thanks to her appearances at Fashion Weeks around the world and her recent turn towards a cottage-core style, which has caught the public’s interest. Right after her is Gigi Hadid with 2,100,000 social media mentions.
The second half of the ranking, from Kendall Jenner to Dua Lipa
Kendall Jenner is the sixth most copied celebrity. She also ranks second for fashion week appearances and brand collaborations. In seventh place is Bella Hadid with 16,000,000 mentions. However, she has relatively few searches, likely due to her decision to stay out of the spotlight in 2024. Hailey Bieber ranks eighth. Despite having one of the lowest search volumes, Hailey scored 32.6 overall thanks to her strong presence at fashion shows and on Pinterest. Ninth place goes to Zendaya, even though she has the lowest number of social media mentions (6,000,000). Her appearances at Fashion Weeks, brand collaborations, and red carpet looks still attract public attention. Dua Lipa closes out the list in tenth place. She remains one of the most influential celebrities in the fashion world, with 11,000,000 social media mentions, despite having the lowest search volume (22,400) and the fewest Pinterest pins (849).
