The girl-next-door look and sweet pop melodies have defined NewJeans since their debut. They have stood out for their easy style, reminiscent of the 90s and early 2000s, making them highly relatable in the eyes of their fans. In the music videos for Ditto and Cookie, they wear school uniforms, in OMG they dance with backpacks shaped like stuffed animals, and now they sport denim, blazers, bomber jackets, and Calvin Klein t-shirts in front of Gordon von Steiner's camera. Hanni, Haerin, Minji, Hyein, and Danielle are, in fact, the stars of the brand's new FW24 campaign.
"We are so excited to be starring in a Calvin Klein campaign. It was a natural fit to partner with a brand rooted in confidence and with their team on a campaign that brought our personalities into focus, all while having fun wearing the latest seasonal styles." said the five girls, who join a team of cool ambassadors that also includes FKA twigs, Jeremy Allen White, and Alexander Skarsgard. "NewJeans bring their fresh and youthful energy to CK classics, embodying the campaign’s theme: from day to night—finding beauty in simplicity," Calvin Klein stated in a press release, explaining their choice of the K-pop group.
It’s not the first time NewJeans have worn the iconic American fashion brand. Last June, all members opted for a series of Calvin Klein denim looks for the Bunnies Camp 2024 fan meeting at the Tokyo Dome Stadium. Denim is also the star of the FW24 campaign's photos and video, appearing in high-waisted jeans, oversized denim jackets, and more fitted pieces. While dancing to It Girl by Kah-Lo, Karma Fields & Associanu, with their signature spontaneity, Hanni, Haerin, Minji, Hyein, and Danielle also showcase casual outfits featuring CK monogram t-shirts, cropped and boxy versions, bomber jackets, blazers, and new outerwear pieces.
