Stella McCartney x adidas Rasant: All You Need to Know
This high-top sneaker is crafted from naturally vegan materials. Its design draws inspiration from vintage running shoes and a style featured in Stella McCartney’s debut SS2002 collection, presented in 2001, which set the tone for a future collaboration. This design balances sensuality, sportiness, femininity, and masculinity, key elements of the brand’s DNA. Modernized for summer 2025, the Rasant features innovative construction using cruelty-free and vegan alternatives to nubuck leather. The unisex design seamlessly blends high performance and high fashion, boasting layered, soft laces that add movement, a natural color palette, and a minimalist silhouette.
A Legacy Rooted in Sports
The Rasant’s DNA connects to the iconic adidas Monza, originally worn by racing legend Mario Andretti during the 1977 and 1978 seasons. A high-top version was introduced in 1980 and later worn by French rally pioneer Michèle Mouton. Since 2004, Stella McCartney and adidas have collaborated to support athletes pushing boundaries, including outfitting Team GB at the 2012 London and 2016 Rio Olympics. The entirely vegan partnership focuses on innovation, using high-performance materials with a lower environmental impact.
