In the early 2000s Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan were the ultimate party girls, the stars of world gossip with their crazy nights of dancing, flirting, alcohol, drugs and glittering outfits. As reported by the tabloids of the period, it seems that between the two there was a fierce hatred, a real feud fought by throwing glasses outside the clubs of Los Angeles, public attacks and insults.
Then, unexpectedly, in 2007 a series of paparazzi shots appeared showing Paris, Lindsay and Britney Spears together in the car during what became the most legendary girls' night out ever. Since then, in fact, speculation has been running about what crazy parties did "the Holy Trinity" (as Miss Hilton called the trio in a tweet celebrating the eleventh anniversary of the event).
A few years later, the heiress said in an interview what happened that infamous night:
We were all at the Beverly Hills Hotel at the bungalows during an after-party and then Britney and I wanted to leave to go home. Then [Lindsay] started, like, chasing us and then squeezed in the car. She just, like, squeezed in and I didn’t want to humiliate her in front of all the paparazzi and be like "Get out of my car", so I was like, "Whatever". - And then added - We went back to my house and then Britney and I just went to sleep. And then, I don't know, Lindsay probably went to another party. There was no Uber back then so she probably called a cab.
Then, Paris strikes the ultimate blow against Lohan:
Back in the day we were friends, but she's just one of those people I don't really trust. I only like to be around positive energy and good people.
That 2007 night, Lindsay defended Paris from paparazzi and stated:
Paris is my friend. She's a good person, I love her. I’ve known her since I was 15 years old.
If you think that the hostility between the heiress and Mean Girls actress is in the past, you are wrong. Paris, in various interviews, called Lindsay "lame and embarrassing" and "a pathological liar".
Now the feud between the two could become a movie. Currently, the project, titled Frenemy, is just one of many potential storylines entered into this year's edition of Black List, an insiders' poll of the best scripts without a producer in Hollywood. Written by Ariel Sayegh, the script is described as "A chronicle of the infamous Lindsay Lohan/Paris Hilton feud of 2004-2006 over who would be Britney Spears’ best friend".
In the past, some screenplays that appeared in Black List turned into hit movies like Juno, The Wolf of Wall Street, The Revenant or Tonya. This is hopeful for all early 2000s nostalgists who wish to relive the feud between Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan on the big screen. Ready to choose sides? Are you #TeamHilton o #TeamLohan?
