Each episode focuses on the vision, aesthetics and work of the 8 talents

Diane Arbus used to say "taking pictures is like tiptoeing into the kitchen late at night and stealing Oreo cookies". Being behind the lens is revealing a secret, stealing a fragment of life, a gesture, an image capable of telling a thousand different stories. Just as different are the visions, aesthetics and backgrounds of Guia Besana, Ilaria Magliocchetti Lombi, Sara Lorusso, Carolina Amoretti, Maria Clara Macrì, Roselena Ramistella, Zoe Natale Mannella e Simona Ghizzoni, the protagonists of Le Fotografe, the new Sky Original docu-series broadcast by Sky Arte.
Each of the 8 episodes of the project created and directed by Francesco G. Raganato takes us into the world of these talented creatives, sharing their vision, their aesthetics, their personal relationship with the camera and how with their work they approach themes ranging from love to the role of women in society, from the inclusive celebration of women's bodies to empowerment. The result is a visual, emotional journey through the female universe.
The series opens with Ilaria Magliocchetti Lombi, author of some of the most beautiful shots of rock stars of the Italian and international indie scene, from Manuel Agnelli to Brandon Boyd from Incubus, from Vasco Brondi to Ben Harper, and Guia Besana, who using her own experience explores the problems of contemporary women and tells us about Strangely Familiar, the new project inspired by Julia Pastrana, the bearded woman who in the 19th century became a world-famous freak. Sara Lorusso, the co-founder of Mulieris Magazine, presents About Sexuality, her first photographic series focused on female sexuality; Carolina Amoretti's shots celebrate femininity in all its forms by encouraging Body Positivity, as she does in the Fantagirl community; Maria Clara Macrì takes us into the bedrooms of young girls, a space where they feel free to create and exist, with the "empathy shots" of In Her Rooms; Roselena Ramistella tells us about the power of the women of her homeland, Sicily. The last episodes will focus on Simona Ghizzoni's self-portraits and on the work of Zoe Natale Mannella who, with her spontaneous, pop and ironic photography, tells about friendship, but also about difficult themes such as eating disorders or violence against women.
Le Fotografe will air every Monday at 9.15 pm from May 24th to July 5th on Sky Arte (channels 120 and 400) and will also be available on demand and in streaming on NOW.
