Cleanser: 5 most common mistakes
The first step of the beauty routine should not be underestimated, here are the mistakes to avoid
July 5th, 2021
Every day we make many small gestures, both in the morning and in the evening, to take care of our skin but are we sure we do it in the right way? Specifically, cleansing is a daily gesture for which everyone, some more and some less, devote time and effort by selecting the right products and applying them in series for a luminous and radiant skin. Sometimes, these steps are almost automatic, but they are not always correct. For a correct daily skincare, facial cleansing should be done in the morning, after a night's rest to prepare the skin of the face for the hardships of the day, and in the evening, to clean it from makeup residues and pollution. Properly cleansed skin is better prepared for applying make-up, while a clean face before a night's rest allows cells to regenerate better. Here are the mistakes to avoid.
1. Using a common cleanser
Each skin has its own needs and it is therefore important to choose an ad hoc product. For those with sensitive skin, for example, it is not recommended to use a common or low-quality cleansing milk but a specific one for this type of skin; for oily skin, on the other hand, it is recommended to use a cleansing milk or an anti-sebum gel. And the dry ones? Make-up removers in the form of oil or butter are recommended.
2. Not cleansing all the areas of our face
In the rush of cleansing we always focus on the classic areas that we believe to be the main ones: T-zone, cheeks, eyes and nose. What about the rest? Too often during cleansing we forget about very important areas such as the jaw, chin and, above all, the neck.
3. Getting the steps wrong
Experts say that proper cleansing with the cleanser begins with the lips, it is necessary to remove the lipstick (if any) and then move on to the rest of the face and finally to the more delicate area, that of the eyes. How? Making circular movements that go from the nose towards the cheeks, then the forehead, chin and cheekbones: from the inside always towards the outside.
4. Applying it on dry skin
Before using the cleanser, the skin of the face should be wet, then the cleanser should be applied with warm water (avoid water that is too hot) and massage lightly. Rinse thoroughly and pat the face with a towel, avoiding rubbing the face as this could cause redness.
5. Do not wash your hands before cleansing your face
It might seem trivial but sometimes we forget. To ensure that the bacteria and germs that are deposited on the skin of the hands at all times do not come into contact with that of the face and on the eyes and mouth it is important to clean them thoroughly, with soap and with a movement of at least forty seconds.
