"Home Alone" house is on Airbnb
Following the release of the remake/reboot, this December you can stay in the McCallister family home
December 2nd, 2021
This Christmas, fans of the '90s and of Home Alone will finally have a chance to make their dream come true and stay in the movie's original home. Following the Disney+ streaming release of Home Sweet Home Alone, the remake/reboot of the cult slapstick comedy, Airbnb is offering four guests the McCallisters' home, the original one at 671 Lincoln Ave, in Winnetka, where Kevin all alone had to deal with two bumbling thieves. While, as legend has it, the most forgetful family in movie history will be away for the vacations, the lucky guests will be able to enjoy the tree and decorations, order the best pizza in Chicago, dine by candlelight on microwaved Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, see a real tarantula with their own eyes, set a variety of booby traps and recreate the famous scene where Macaulay Culkin sprays himself with aftershave and screams at the top of his lungs in front of the mirror.
The special host will not be Culkin, but Devin Ratray aka Buzz McCallister, Kevin's big brother, who invites us to try our luck and win a stay at his family's home in Chicago:
We may all be older and wiser now, but we’re never too old for holiday hijinks. So this year, spend the holidays not-so-home-alone at my parents’ house. You may not remember me as particularly accommodating,” says Buzz, “but I’ve grown up, and I’d be happy to share my family home – my pizza, even – with you this holiday season. Just try not to let my tarantula, Axl, loose this time.
The stay will be available for the night of December 12 only, for up to four guests at the cost of $25 (excluding taxes and fees). Reservations will open on Tuesday, December 7 at 1 p.m. on Airbnb. The fastest person will be able to live this unique experience and will receive a Home Alone house made by LEGO for the launch of the new movie as a gift.
