Who are the 4 co-hosts of Sanremo 2023? From Chiara Ferragni to Paola Egonu, here's who will join Amadeus on the Ariston stage

It is now very close and the closer the date gets, the more details surrounding Sanremo 2023 are multiplying.  The 73rd will be an edition of the Italian Song Festival dedicated to strong female presences and great returns, starting with the contestants in the competition where Paola and Chiara, Giorgia, Anna Oxa, Elodie, Madame and Levante stand out, who in the past years have distinguished themselves for their talent and sense of style, contributing, each in their own way, to mark the history of the musical kermesse. Also returning is Amadeus, confirmed as artistic director and host for the fourth consecutive year who, after the excellent results in numbers and consensus gathered from 2020, will once again take the Ariston stage accompanied by four co-hosts who will join him from Tuesday, February 7 to Saturday, February 11: Chiara Ferragni, Francesca Fagnani, Paola Egonu and Chiara Francini. The name of Europe's most relevant influencer had already been confirmed last summer, while in recent weeks those of the other protagonists have been announced, bringing out a common thread that seems to have motivated their choice. Chiara, Francesca, Paola and Chiara come from different professional fields and backgrounds, they are athletes, influencers, actresses, journalists, but they are all united by well-defined and impactful personalities, talent and beauty. They are multifaceted women, strong but also capable of proudly displaying imperfections and fragility. They are extremely contemporary and in their personal journey they have been able to communicate important messages, from women's empowerment to inclusion, addressing even uncomfortable or controversial issues that have heated public opinion and we are sure they will re-propose at Sanremo as well, raising not only the audience share but also the debate. Let's get to know them better.

Chiara Ferragni

Opening the show on Tuesday, February 7, will be Chiara Ferragni, whom we will also meet again on Saturday, February 11, for the final. Hers was the first name announced by Ama, immediately raising the hype around the Festival and her performance that, for the first time ever, sees her in the role of presenter. Although there are rumors that there is already a TV show of her own ready for the influencer, Sanremo 2023 represents an important debut and perhaps a decisive turning point in her career, which is increasingly projected toward that of a multifaceted character and not only linked to the world of fashion. In fact, while everyone is already betting on the outfits that the influencer and businesswoman will sport on the two evenings she will be the protagonist, Chiara has made it clear that her participation will also stand out for the important topics she will bring to the Ariston stage, such as her firm stance against violence against women and in favor of women's empowerment across the board. It is not yet known whether she will speak about it with a classic monologue or with a more impactful format, but at the first press conference she already announced that she will donate 100 percent of the Sanremo Festival cachet to the D.i.Re. association, which runs more than 100 Anti-Violence Centers and more than 60 Shelter Houses throughout Italy with the aim of making the phenomenon of male violence against women visible, so that it is perceived by society as a serious violation of human rights and overcome. Chiara has started her San Remo adventure on the right foot and we are sure she will have great surprises in store for us, proving to those who have not yet realized that she is much more than a fashion victim.

Francesca Fagnani

Wednesday 8 will be the turn of Francesca Fagnani. Born in 1976, the journalist made her debut right at Rai in 2011, working first in the New York branch and then in some of Michele Santoro and Giovanni Minoli's programs, but she gained popularity with Belve. Fagnani will make her Ariston debut, thus crowning a highly successful season, achieved thanks to her show, which, now in its seventh edition, will be promoted to prime time in spring 2023. His interviews with disruptive and interesting characters have captured the attention of the public and critics, who have shown their appreciation for his ironic and shrewd style, a characteristic that many are sure we will see again at Sanremo. Who knows if within Wednesday's long evening Francesca will be given the opportunity to interview some guests or if the co-host will prefer to tell her story with a hard-hitting monologue as has happened in past editions of the Festival.

Paola Egonu

Paola Egonu will be the co-host of the evening on Thursday, Feb. 9. Class of 1998, born in Cittadella, in the province of Padua, to parents of Nigerian nationality, Paola showed from an early age the talent as an athlete that has led her to great achievements such as a gold medal at the world championship with the national Under-18 team, three Italian Super Cups, three Italian Cups, two Scudetti, the 2019 FIVB World Club Championships and participation in the 2022 World Championships. On that very occasion, following the defeat of the Italian national team of which she is a member in the semifinal with Brazil Paola had been the victim of racist insults that marked her to such an extent that she wished to leave the national team. The incident of intolerance had as its only positive side to bring to the center of the conversation the problem of inclusiveness that is still strong in our country, but also to make known the splendid talent of the volleyball player to those who did not know her name. Paola's presence at the Ariston can turn the spotlight on inclusivity, showing us how being Italian today has so many different nuances, all valid, legitimate and valuable, but perhaps also tell us about a new side of Paola that goes beyond volleyball.

Chiara Francini

On Friday, February 10, the hostess of the fourth evening will be Chiara Francini. Born in 1979 in Tuscany, Chiara has often combined her acting career with that of presenter and writer. In film and theater she has worked with Leonardo Pieraccioni, Spike Lee and Fausto Brizzi, while on TV we have seen her in Stracult, Colorado and, above all, in Drag Race Italia, the talent show created by Ru Paul and dedicated to the drag world where she has been among the judges since 2021. Ironic, beautiful and versatile, Francini could be the real wild card of this Sanremo, juggling better than the other co-hosts on stage. In addition to introducing the competing singers, she could sing, dance, do a comedy, drama or monologue piece, perhaps on some topical issue...in short, she could be a real surprise. As for the outfits? We bet on Dolce & Gabbana, a brand he has sported several times before.
