All about Timothée Chalamet's new movie The actor will star in the biopic about table tennis player Marty Reisman

If her friend and colleague Zendaya made us rediscover the charm of rackets and pleated skirts, sparking the tenniscore trend, Timothée Chalamet might be able to make us love and popularize ping pong. The actor, having transformed into Bob Dylan for James Mangold's A Complete Unknown, will work on another biopic. This time, Timmy will portray table tennis champion Marty Reisman in Marty Supreme, a biographical film produced by A24, written by Ronald Bronstein and Josh Safdie, known for Uncut Gems, who will also direct the project in development.

What will the new Timothée Chalamet film be about?

Sources close to the film state that Marty Supreme will be a fictionalized story, while according to Variety, the feature will be about Reisman, one of the greatest American ping pong champions, who made history in the sport as "the wizard of table tennis." The film is said to be inspired by the 1974 book The Money Player: The Confessions of America’s Greatest Table Tennis Champion and Hustler. Throughout his career, Marty Reisman won 22 major ping pong titles from 1946 to 2002, including five bronze medals at the World Championships. In 1997, at the age of 67, he competed in the U.S. National Hardbat Championship and became the oldest player to win a national competition in a racquet sport. Passing away in 2012, the American sports legend had an interesting life, not only for his sports achievements but also for his private life. Reisman started as a hustler in New York in the 1940s, playing for bets and prizes, and then worked as a sex worker in New York.
